The Ohio State Highway Patrol including troopers with the Cambridge post will be joining forces with other members of the 6-State Trooper Project to focus on distracted driving enforcement.
The initiative began at 12:01 a.m. today and continues through 11:59 p.m. on Monday, April 12.
“By driving distracted, you are putting yourself and the lives of others at risk,” said Patrol Commander Col. Richard S. Fambro. “Every time someone takes their eyes off the road – even for just a split second, its consequences can be devastating.”
The high-visibility enforcement will also include the Indiana State Police, Kentucky State Police, Michigan State Police, Pennsylvania State Police and the West Virginia State Police.

Multiple law enforcement agencies from across north Florida and South Georgia honored slain Decatur County Sheriff’s Office Captain Justin Bedwell as his body is brought home Tuesday morning. The procession escorted his body from Tallahassee, Florida, to Bainbridge, Georgia.
Captain Justin Bedwell succumbed to injuries that were sustained in the line of duty, Saturday, February 27, 2021 in Brinson, GA, while assisting Seminole County Sheriff’s Office in a high-speed chase where shots had been fired at Sheriff’s Deputies.
Sheriff Griffin posted the following statement to the DCSO Facebook page: Captain Bedwell is a 19-year veteran of the Decatur County Sheriff’s Office. Coast Guard Annual Luncheon & Award Ceremony 2020
Today, the Belize Coast Guard held one of its tradition – the annual Christmas luncheon and awards program. The Christmas luncheon for military or service members is a long standing tradition first started in the Belize Defence Force and has since become a part of the Belize Coast Guard’s ritual. about 15 minutes before the show starts, we start getting ready to watch the show. i do a last-minute check with the coast forward and my patrol commander on water, and then we sit back and wait for the show. down on the ground, freelance videographer dan roy finds a perfect spot to watch with friends. only a few hundred feet away from where the fireworks will be launched. i had my camera out and i was checking it, making sure it was all ready to go. and then once the things started going off, i just swung around and hit record. but it s not the planned start of the show. an unexpected massive blast of fireworks erupts from the barges five minutes before the scheduled start time. this was like a nuclear bomb went off. you could feel the heat coming from the explosions. it was it was very overwhelming.
