Posted: April 19, 2021 Sparwood welcomes new planning and development director The District of Sparwood is pleased to announce the newest member of the team, Patrick Sorfleet, who will be filling the role of Director of Planning and Development beginning in May. Patrick is a Registered Professional Planner who brings more than 14 years of planning and development experience. He joins the team in Sparwood, having previously been Manager of Planning for the neighbouring City of Fernie and the Planning and Development Supervisor with the Town of Canmore. Patrick has led numerous community engagement based strategic plans, managed many complex development plans, and has spoken at several conferences on topics relevant to planning in mountain communities. His career to date has been spent in former coal mining communities and he is excited to work in a community that has active primary industry. ....
