Memphis restaurant The Four Way gets grant on NBC's 'TODAY' show

The announcement was a surprise for The Four Way owner Patrice Bates Thompson.
The Four Way, along with Atlanta restaurant Daddy D z Bar-B-Que Joint, were both interviewed by TODAY show host Sheinelle Jones early this spring. Neither restaurant was told at the time about the grant.
The two restaurants were chosen for their commitment to their communities.
It is important for me to continue the legacy and to keep the history going to have the community thrive again, said Thompson during the interview.
TODAY anchor Savannah Guthrie added that the grant is not a loan or money that will have to be paid back. Take this $40,000 and serve your community, Jones added. ....
