Arkansans spend $200 million on medical marijuana


Total medical marijuana sales have surpassed 30,000 pounds in Arkansas, with over $200 million spent to obtain the cannabis, according to Scott Hardin, spokesperson for the Arkansas Medical Marijuana Commission.Hardin says since the first dispensary opened in May 2019, Arkansans have spent $200.7 million to obtain 30,648 pounds of medical marijuana, as of Dec. 16.There are 31 dispensaries serving patients and seven working toward launching operations.
In addition, the Arkansas Department of Health website indicates 60,013 medical marijuana ID cards had been issued as of Nov. 20.

Arkansas medical marijuana sales surpass 30,000 pounds, $200 million in sales

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. It s been nearly a year and a half since the first medical marijuana dispensary opened for businesses in Arkansas. Since then, 30,648 pounds of medicine has been sold, and Arkansans have spent $200.7 million on medical marijuana products. 
The first dispensary opened in May 2019 in Hot Springs. Now, 31 dispensaries are serving patients across the state, with seven more are working toward launching operations, Scott Hardin, spokesperson for the Arkansas Medical Marijuana Commission, reports. 
The COVID-19 pandemic has not slowed the growth of medical marijuana in the Natural State. Dispensaries in Northwest Arkansas have reported an uptick in sales since the virus landed in the U.S. ....
