A surge in medical marijuana purchases has pushed Arkansas' medical marijuana market to more than $330 million in overall sales, including at three dispanseries
Arkansans continue to spend almost $900,000 each day on medical marijuana purchases and recently surpassed the $300 million mark in sales, figures released by the Arkansas Medical Marijuana Commission indicate.
Scott Hardin, spokesperson for the Commission, saysSince the first dispensary opened in mid-2019, Arkansans have spent a total of $303.5 million to purchase 45,286 pounds of medical marijuana. In April, Arkansans spent $18.5 million to purchase 2,517 pounds of cannabis.
The daily average of $885,000 Arkansans are spending on medical marijuana purchases is an increase of $5,000 compared to figures reported last month.
Commission officials report 13 dispensaries have now sold at least 2,000 pounds of marijuana. There are 32 dispensaries across the state, with six more preparing to open.

The Arkansas Department of Health reports 66,638 active patient cards.

As Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC) prepares for its Wednesday morning meeting at 9 with a local medical marijuana dispensary on the agenda, the state is reporting cannabis sales have passed a quarter of a billion dollars.
The ABC agenda includes a hearing via a video conference for Fiddler’s Green Dispensary, located at 16150 Arkansas Highway 9 in Mountain View.
According to the agenda, the hearing is for the appeal of a violation order in Sept. 2020. At that time, the dispensary was cited for
– failure to properly label medical cannabis;
– failure by operator to cooperate with ABC Enforcement;
