Federal investigators confirm a possible link between the ambushstyle killing of a sheriffs deputy and the killing of a federal officer in oakland. Good evening, and thank you for joining us. Investigators say Steven Carrillo ambushed and kill the deputy yesterday in ben lomond and wounded another deputy and a chp officer. Deputies first responded to the scene after getting a call about a suspicious white van. The caller reported seeing guns and bombmaking materials inside the van. Investigators are also looking for a white van connected to the shooting death of federal Security Officer Pat Underwood in oakland. Sergeant Damon Gutzwiller died in yesterdays shooting. Larger rally and march that was over 1,000 people who took their message directly to police in a fourmile stretch in that june heat. The facetoface discussion at Police Headquarters followed a nearly nineminute moment of silence at city hall. Oakland city leaders say 15,000 people attended yesterdays rally and march. This was organized by students at oakland tech, but it grew to include thousands more. But the Officials Say that after dark a different, much Smaller Group con fronted police throwing rocks and bottles at officers. In all, officers issued 60 citations. Hurt individual whose want to express their grief, their anger, their frustrations and tensions, and we stand with them. However, there is a second component, and that component is very troubling. It is agitators and an organized movement that would seek to harm and dangelo, disrupt, loot and vandalize our community.
