reporter: the superintendent says that the stop had nothing to do with racial profiling, the two men and two others nearby were questioned, because they did not have a permit required to solicit door to door. the officer made the stop based on the fact seeing these people going house to house soliciting. reporter: he said that the pair were only told to sit on the ground for a short time after officers learned that one might have been wanted on a warrant. he was not. and they were released without being cited for anything. the the encounters were very friendly, in fact, in one case when the gentlemen left they shook the the officer s hands. reporter: the superintendent points out that the no soliciting or the the soliciting permit ordinance only applies to adults so that young people out shoveling sidewalks to make a little extra money need in the worry about being stopped by police. live from lower merion i m walt hunter, cbs-3 eyewitness news . walt, thank you.
