It is important because the regime is collaborating with lockstep with in hezbollah. Syria is important because its people in seeking freedom and dignity has suffered unimaginable horrors. I also recognize how ambivalent americans are about the situation there. On the one hand, we americans share a desire, after two wars which have taken 6700 american lives and cost over 1 trillion, to invest taxpayer dollars in american schools and infrastructure. On the other hand, americans have heard the president s commitment that this will not iraq, this will not be afghanistan ....
