A few of the families of those victims have been willing to tell their stories. Greg Collins was the pastor at Delta United Methodist Church in Sandy Ridge up until his death from COVID in September. Pastor Collins’ wife, Bonnie, was also positive with the virus but had very little in the way of symptoms. Both the Collins went on Aug. 31 to be tested, since Bonnie’s employer said one of her coworkers had tested positive. “My test came back Sept. 2 as positive and at that time I had no symptoms,” she says. “Greg’s test came back as negative the following day and he had no symptoms either. It wasn’t until a few days later that I lost my sense of taste, but only about three days.” ....
