Whenever I have turned a critical eye to the subject of snow removal, certain quarters insist that I am maligning the bleary-eyed drivers who are tasked with keeping the roads open while dodging cars driven by people who don t need to be out.
So I will say it again: I am not attacking the drivers. They are but small, street-level cogs turning as instructed. The flaw is built into the machine s greater design. The city s philosophy is all wrong.
Before each snowfall I will not flatter these 0-3-inch accumulations by calling them storms the city advises residents that a plan is in place.
