Where did June go? It’s already the 29th, and Independence Day festivities are coming up fast. Talking about time flying, it was 40 years ago that Steve Wozniak tested his first prototype of the Apple I computer. Personal computing has never been the same.
Welcome to Wednesday, Carson City. One day closer to the weekend, and one day closer to June. Carson City truly shines in the summertime with events like the Taste of Downtown, Blinky Man, and the Fathers’ Day Powwow at the Stewart Indian School. New to hit downtown this year is Battleborn Brews, Bikes, and Bubbly: sure to be a fun time.
Did everyone catch the giant double rainbow last night? Our wacky weather does make for some amazing skies. Sunsets of orange, purple, red, and fuchsia are commonplace if we happen to look up at the right time. Today will be another partly cloudy day, so keep your camera handy if you want to capture some great skies yourself.
Get over the mid-week hump with some live music. Dave Leather will entertain with some lunchtime Americana and Blues at Comma Coffee. The weekly Jazz Jam at Sassafras will see Rick Metz and his group First Take. Enjoy the tunes at Living the Good Life, Z Bistro, or Glen Eagles during dinner.
Bike to Work week begins today. Remember to share the road, and please drive carefully as there will be more people in the bike lines. Salvador Dali, the Spanish artist known for his surrealist works, was a bike rider, too; happy birthday to him. An artist reception this evening at the Nevada Arts Council honors Pasha Rafat.
