Lewis Park Redesign Project. The park is named for civil rights leader Chester I. Lewis, who was the president of the local chapter of the NAACP, fought to desegregate Wichita, and lobbied for fair housing. The goal of the project is to honor his legacy and provide residents with a place to reflect.
