ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) It s back to work for employees at gyms, hair salons and barbershops that are located in the Orange Zone. They got the okay to reopen last week after Governor Andrew Cuomo determined it was safe for them to do so.
For quite a while now, owners of these businesses have long said that they are not part of the super spread of COVID-19. After all the data came in, Cuomo finally agreed.
After a three-week hiatus hair salons, and barbershops are seeing some of their customers for the first time since Cuomo transitioned these businesses into the Orange Designated Zone, temporarily shutting them down.

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) Hours after Gov. Andrew Cuomo said gyms and hair salons located inside the Orange Zone can open Saturday, there s some confusion. His updated plan now says those changes take effect on Monday.
Salons and barbershops have been scrambling since the announcement to find a rapid test on Friday.
It s been over two weeks now since anyone has gotten their hair cut at GVIII Barbershop located on Monroe Avenue. Owner Gilberto Vargas says Gov. Cuomo s COVID negative testing requirement for reopening is a major hurdle as he tries to find a rapid testing site.
