be very clear. not one republican should vote for this deal. it is a bad deal. i thought the last plan wasn t good enough. i had no idea. i had no idea that we would see a plan as ephemeral as this plan. anyone who s spent any time on capitol hill will tell you those hard liners were probably never going to vote for any compromise. by necessity, it would not be what they wanted, which was major spending cuts to social programs but here is where it gets tricky. as part of the deal to get the gavel, mccarthy put a number of those hard liners on the rules committee in the house. and now two of them, chip roy and ralph norman, are openly trying to sink deal. will they, even though they re trying to sink it, still allow it to go to the floor for a vote? that that is an open question. we re going to ask garrett haake about it in a moment. there s also the question of whether enough house dems will sign on. the conventional wisdom is yes. that there s no way democrats will all
