El Paso Represented in Virtual "Parade Across America"


The inauguration of President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris look a little bit different than inaugurations of the past. For one, no crowds were allowed. Aside from major political lawmakers- no gatherings were allowed. The traditional inaugural parade wasn t an option this year due to both the current pandemic and security fears. However, a virtual Parade Across America was thrown in honor of the incoming President and Vice President.
The virtual celebration included artists, dancers, drum lines, singers and athletes from across the United States. The Parade Across America was hosted by Tony Goldwyn, and the names in the lineup included Jon Stewart, Earth, Wind & Fire, figure skaters, Olympians, at least one skateboarder, representatives of every branch of the military, a wheelchair basketball program, and the newly reunited New Radicals performing their hit You Get What You Give . ....

Foo Fighters was one of the few acts to perform one of their own songs, rather than a cover, on Wednesday’s
Celebrating America inauguration special, and that decision seemed to pay off for them.
Billboardnotes that sales of the song the Foos performed their classic “Times Like These” increased by more than 8,700% after the special aired.
Meanwhile,
Parade Across America inaugural event also turned out to be a good move.
During the parade, which was held following the inauguration of
President
Billboard, the song experienced a sales bump of more than 260%. ....
