(OLNEY/NEWTON) The Richland County TB & Health Office in Olney and the Jasper County Health Department in Newton are now working to develop plans to maximize the distribution of the COVID-19 vaccinations as the state moves to Phase 1B of the distribution next week. Both offices are asking the public to be patient with the process. Depending on when the vaccine arrives, the two offices will be scheduling clinics accordingly with priority given to certain categories of those on the Phase 1B list. Appointments will be required for both doses of COVID-19 vaccines and the limited vaccination tickets will be available online ONLY with advanced online appointment scheduling. Walk-in shots will not be offered. Be listening to WSEI-WIKK radios for updates from both offices in Newton and Olney and be watching the respective websites and Facebook pages for more details as they become available.
