Poisoning of alexei navalny. We did not just do it ourselves, we rallied European Allies in a joint effort to impose costs on russia for the use of a Chemical Agent against one of their citizens on russian soil. We are preparing another package of sanctions to apply. We have shown along the way that we will not pull our punches. Whether solar winds or Election Interference or navalny, when it comes to responding to russians activities. The president also took the extraordinary step of signing a new Executive Order that gives him expanded authority when it comes to sanctions for russias harmful activity. We will take a backseat to no one. It will come as soon as we have developed the packages to ensure we are getting the right targets. When we do that, we will impose further sanctions with respect to chemical weapons. Washington journal, every day we are taking your calls, live on the air come with the news of the day. Lets start with the infrastructure discussions. It is pretty much in the hands of republicans, a bipartisan group of democrats and republicans at this point. They have a proposal before President Biden. Tell us about that. Guest this is the second iteration bipartisan talks. The first bill had to do with between President Biden and Senator Capito of west virginia. This second group of bipartisan senators picked up the mantle and really has started to make quite a bit of progress and gain some momentum in recent days. The other day, they said that they now have 11 republicans on board, 10 members of the democratic caucus including the independent Angus King of maine. They are gathering more and more support as they move forward. I think theres really two camps here. One is the progressives that want President Biden to go big with multitrillion dollar packages including infrastructure, but also other measures including Health Care and perhaps immigration. This group of bipartisan senator

Of bipartisanship. In the past week, we saw the practically inanimate practically unanimous adoption of juneteenth as a holiday. That was unexpected national unity, which was unusual. We have seen a bipartisan group of senators get together to talk about a compromise on infrastructure. We dont know where that is going to go, but that is a possibility also of bipartisanship. And regarding voting rights, that has been a little bit more difficult. Senator joe manchin, the one who has most prominently said he opposes changing filibuster rules although it is understood in washington that he actually speaks for a great many democratic senator. He is sort of the front man. Anyway, he has said he is against changing the filibuster but he did come out with his own voting Rights Bill as an alternative to it immediately got the attention of stacey abrams, voting activist. Unfortunately it was shut down by mitch mcconnell. Host there is also this headline following the summit that took place in ge

In my Generation Week Rub under World War ii hiding under our desks because the russians were coming. I found myself at the end of the cold war in Budapest And Berlin watching the fall of the iron curtain. I was in africa in the Peace Corps on the border of south africa during the apartheid and i was there for the election where Nelson Mandela was elected president. A lot of the things you think that will not change, will. Many times for the better, i am optimistic about this. Look at gayrights, marriage, that will never change, but it did. I think we made progress, not enough. Changes the story. Host lets dig in. Guest host lets dig in. The battle between right and left will not fade, we needed, we must battle for the maximum liberty of the individual americans after all of these years trying to get it right. Where are we getting it right . Guest i like cspan because you get the left in the right, journalists do not tell the whole story. I cannoti cannot think anybody , they tell part

taken from the former guy florida club. judge dearie demanded that the lawyers offer actual proof for trump s repeated claim that the fbi planted evidence during the search. doria also wants the legal team to formally state whether they believe the fbi lied about the documents that were seized. and goes on to say that he might ask for testimony about the search and the documents from, quote, witnesses with knowledge of the relevant facts. one more sign that the special master he, means business, he is pushing for another judge to help review the thousands of items that were found in trump s home. the former president has claimed he declassified sensitive records that he took from the white house by just thinking about it. last night he told sean hannity that he is able to do that just by thinking. apparently, that was news to some senate republicans. i think there is a process for declassifying documents. and i think it ought to be adhered to and followed. and i think tha
