Friday, Governor Walz announced a new series of COVID-19 changes as the vaccine rollout continues at full speed. Among the rule changes are increases to capacity for event venues. And the progress of the vaccine rollout has Governor Walz hopeful that proms and graduations could look close to normal by May and June. ....

But schools and businesses are in a tough position with the uncertainty of the pandemic still lingering.
At the Prom Shop in Byron, they have over 1,000 dresses to choose from. The owner of the Prom Shop, Pam Bessler said this time last year the Prom Shop was very busy, and just one day everything stopped because the state was shutdown. The shop closed its doors for the rest of the prom season, but they still kept working towards this 2021 prom season. The shop is only open from December through April, so they still planned for this year by ordering new dresses, but there might be a shortage in dresses because manufacturers created fewer. We always felt because we deal with such a large area that a lot of these smaller schools at least would be having Prom, ....
