Flagler County Fire Rescue, with the assistance of crews from Palm Coast and Flagler Beach, on Feb. 2 extinguished wind-driven flames at a Hammock Dunes stilt house, but not before the fire consumed the main living area. The residents, including a pet, escaped from the home before firefighters arrived.
“Flames were coming from the top balcony of the home when firefighters arrived,” Interim Fire Chief Joe King said. “(Fire Rescue) Engine 41 and Rescue 41 quickly located, confined and extinguished the wind-driven fire that consumed a main area of the occupied residence.” ....
