Ruff s Giant Burgers.
I ve never heard of
Ruff s. What have we been missing? I had to ask, What made Ruff s so special? Bethany replied:
Ruff s was set up like a 50 s diner, with old records and posters all over the walls, and their bugers were huge. Their whole name was Ruff s Giant Burgers. My mom grew up here, and as a kid/teenager she and her friends would hang out there all of the time. It didn t matter where in the Tri-Cities you lived, or how old you were, everyone went to Ruff s. It was THE place to be. When I was a kid, my brother and I would get so excited to go. They had arcade games set up, and you could pick the jukebox music from your table. Also, their milkshakes were 100% the best in town.

We asked and You Answered! The best Dive Bar is..
When I think of a dive bar the first thing that comes to mind is the food. You can have all the atmosphere and service in the world but if you don t have the wreck your outfit kind of burger, it doesn t qualify (in my book) as a great dive bar. Certainly the atmosphere and service counts, but the food is a deal breaker for me. Everyone loves that Cheers feeling when you walk into a bar, you know, where everyone knows your name!
When you know a handful of the folks bellied up to the bar and they greet you by your name or the nickname you earned, like Booger, Giggles, Moose, Boots etc.. it s comforting. I personally have met some of the greatest people now in my life in a bar (in my defense I have spent a good portion of my life working in a bar, not just bellied up to one).
Local Small Business Owners Helping Local Small Business Owners
Last week I posted about the Glass Punty, a small business reaching out to another small business to help them out by ordering a stack of pizzas, buckets of wings and then having them delivered to local firefighters and law enforcement. It was a three way win! Because of that gesture, the trend seems to be catching on. More businesses have been stepping up and ordering pizzas and having them sent to people in need or to local law officers. The latest business has asked to be remained anonymous and we will respect their wishes, but it is exciting to see what a tremendous community we live in and the giving hearts of these small businesses that have struggles of their own.
