Changing skyline: Trees marked for chopping

After receiving clearance from the Tree Expert Committee (TEC) to cut 67 trees for construction of the flyover, the Palike removed nine trees on December 1 last year. The rest of the trees standing in the project area were also to be chopped on the same day. However, a special order issued by the Deputy Conservator of Forest (DCF), BBMP, had put a temporary pause on the project.

Foodies rejoice, your street is just about ready

BBMP took up renovation work more than a year back. Work started in December 2022 and has been ongoing. Inspired by the facelift given to Church Street and Commercial Street, the Palike proposal involves turning the VV Puram food street that sees heavy footfall into a more organised avenue for food lovers.
