Tropical storm isaias just shy of hurricane strength is already being felt as it approaches south floridas east coast. Its a major concern in a state already struggling to contain the coronavirus pandemic. Covid19 has infected more than 480,000 people in florida and killed more than 7,000. Even with strict safety protocols in place in the states evacuation shelters, Health Officials fear the virus could spread further among the people inside with the storms full impact expected. In the coming hours the state has temporarily shut down the Virus Testing sites. Officials worried theyll see a new surge of cases once the storm has passed and testing resumes. Floridas governor says they should prepare for a week long disruption. Floridians should be executing their plans, particularly if youre on the east coast of florida, palm beach and north of there. Center of isaias. This wind shear cuts it to pieces. That causes it to weaken. As you can see on satellite imagery, it went from a big powerfullooking hurricane to a weak little Tropical Storm. But now its starting to reintensify. I can tell by the satellite imagery. The gusts are up to 85. Its move ing to the northwest 9. Marsh harbor, free port, you are seeing heavy rainfall. Those bands of showers and thunderstorms are move nook the peninsula of florida at this very second. You could see those little lines here, the banding features. Those are the squall lines moving into south florida. Its tapered off in miami to homestead, there is more out to the east. So going around the horn here up to broward and Palm Beach County, you had a nice grazing come through. Then along the treasure coast, you are seeing a lot of rainfall at the moment.
