FSU SPLITS DAY TWO OF CCSA CHAMPIONSHIPS

Huntsville, Ala. – The No. 4 ranked Florida State Seminoles went 1-1 on the second day of the CCSA Championships, winning against South Carolina and losing to TCU knocking them out of championship contention.

Alexis Durish and Makenna Wolfe did their thing on court five giving the Noles their first dual point of the match. Wolfe and Durish won the first set 21-13, then won the second set in similar fashion 21-13.

Audrey Koenig and Caitlin Moon fought hard on court four but were unable to hold off the Gamecocks. The pair lost both sets 21-17.

Carra Sassack and Morgan Chacon had close sets on court three. The duo won the first set 21-19, then had a back and forth second set before closing it out 21-19. This gave the Noles a 2-1 lead in the dual.

BEACH VOLLEYBALL HEADS TO HUNTSVILLE FOR CCSA CHAMPIONSHIPS

Tallahassee, Fla. – The No. 4 ranked Florida State Seminoles (29-6) travel to Huntsville, Alabama to attempt their seventh straight CCSA conference championship. The conference championship is double elimination and the Seminoles come in ranked as the second seed, just behind TCU. Alexis Durish also earned All-Freshman honors prior to the championships. Maddie Anderson and Paige Kalkhoff lead the All-Academic lineup for the Seminoles.   All-Academic Paige Kalkhoff headlines the CCSA All-Academic team, winning scholar athlete of the year. Partner Maddie Anderson joins Kalkhoff on the All-Academic team. Kalkhoff has a 4.0 GPA and Anderson has a 3.94 GPA.   Alexis Durish All-Freshman Alexis is 19-1 when playing with Makenna Wolfe on court five. Wolfe and Durish also earned Pair of the Week honors after posting a 5-0 record at the March to May Tournament. NOLES END CENTER OF EFFORT 2-2

San Luis Obispo, Calif. – The No. 4 Florida State Seminoles split day two of the Center of Effort Challenge, winning against No. 6 Loyola Marymount and losing to No. 1 TCU.

On court three Jordan Polo and Anna Long were in a three-set bout. The first set went in favor on LMU winning 21-19. Polo and Long caught fire in the second set and won 21-14. The pair kept their momentum going into the third set and won 15-13.

Caitlin Moon and Raelyn White won their first set 21-17. The pair then had a rocky start to the second set but forced extra points and got the win25-23.

Carra Sassack and Audrey Koenig took court two to three sets. The pair lost the first set 22-20, then won the second set 21-18. The third set was back-and-forth, but Koenig and Sassack were able to pull out the 15-9 win.
