That s not what this is. when it happened with reagan, taxes were a salient issue in the country. fewer and fewer people pay the income tax. 75% of americans pay more in payroll taxes than they do in the income tax. the brackets are much lower than they were when reagan did this. inflation is much lower so we don t have bracket creep flowing people higher and higher into brackets. chairman brady s a wonderful intelligent legislator but it is preposterous to say this nibbling around at the edges of the sledge is a serious reform of our 70,000 page tax code. just it s not happening. can republicans in fact, we re going to make it more complicated. they say, well, you used to be able to deduct local taxes. now we ll have a cap, it will have a wrinkle some way. more complicated than it was. loopholes aren t actually going away. if you want to talk about corporate tax reform, yes, the ....
