Italy's Fratelli Cosulich orders LNG bunker vessel


China s CIMC to build LNG bunker vessel for Fratelli Cosulich
Italian shipping company Fratelli Cosulich has placed an order for an LNG bunkering vessel at China s CIMC SinoPacific Offshore & Engineering shipyard, it said on May 10. 
The vessel with approximately 5,300 metric tons of dwt will be able to transport over 8,000 m
3 of LNG and 500 m
3 of marine gas oil for bunkering. It will be equipped with Wartsila propulsion and power generation systems. Its investment cost is $45mn, the company said. 
“This important investment reaffirms the group’s commitment to safeguard the environment and to operate with absolute safety,” the company said. “Our efforts are focused on decreasing our footprint, and on contributing to the infrastructure for the entire shipping and logistics sector.”  ....

Rio Grande de Cagayan is the longest and largest river in the Philippines. Popularly known as the Cagayan River, its total length is 505 kilometers traversing the provinces of Cagayan, Isabela, Quirino, and Nueva Viscaya.
For several decades now, Region 2 or the Cagayan Valley region ,has been suffering from floods. Late last year, Isabela and Cagayan were both devastated after the onslaught of two succeeding super-typhoons when massive volumes of rainwater were released from Magat Dam straddling the boundaries of three provinces. The dam drains down to the Cagayan River and its tributaries, which have been heavily silted as a result. ....
