"Yes To Burials; But Not Covid" - Emperor's 'Racist' Clothes Laid Bare!

Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn, The Gulag Archipelago 1918–2008
Anderson’s tale about Emperors’ new clothes involves a vain king who was preoccupied with his appearance and his wardrobe. A pair of swindlers took advantage of this by pretending to be able to weave the finest cloth, which couldn’t be seen by people who were either unfit for office or were particularly stupid. The king decided to have a suit of clothes made from the fabric in order to test which of his courtiers was unfit for office. As he didn’t want to appear stupid or unfit for rule himself, he pretended to be able to see the new clothes, as did all of his courtiers. He paraded the ‘new clothes’ through the streets and the onlookers, also not wishing to appear stupid, all admired them. A small child, who didn’t understand the apparent necessity for pretence, piped up ‘But he has nothing on!’. The bubble of pretence burst and soon all the onlookers were repeating what the child had said, whilst th ....

Burial of COVID-19 victims in Maldives reflects badly on Sri Lanka

Burial of COVID-19 victims in Maldives reflects badly on Sri Lanka View(s):
Last week’s announcement that the Maldivian Government was considering allowing the burial of Muslim victims of COVID-19 in the Maldiveson a request by President Gotabaya Rajapaksa came as a surprise to many. The fact that the small country in the Indian Ocean was looking at the request favourably was a testimony to the strong bonds that have existed between the two countries for hundreds of years.
The Sri Lankan Government has by its continued disregard of WHO guidelines permitting victims of COVID-19 to be buried has shown scant regard to the request of a section of its citizenry, namely the Muslims, to bury those who died as a result of being infected with the COVID-19 virus. It has not even made an official announcement as to the reasons for such a refusal except to take refuge behind an anonymous expert technical committee who themselves have not officially given the reasoni ....

'Exporting' The 'Covid Burial' Issue To Maldives: Is It A Hobson's Choice Or Another Red Herring?

‘Exporting’ The ‘Covid Burial’ Issue To Maldives: Is It A Hobson’s Choice Or Another Red Herring?
“Tolerance of intolerance enables oppression.” ― DaShanne Stokes
The Muslim community is losing hope in their battle for justice to bury their ‘Covid’ dead. This is a traumatic situation for the entire community. Yes! trauma aside, this is going to have serious implications for generations to come. With legal avenues being effectively blocked by the highest court of the land, and their calls for good sense or soundness of judgment being virtually muted in the face of a history of ‘State sanctioned’ racism particularly in Post war Sri Lanka, the beleaguered community appears to be facing another dilemma – to be or not to be buried in a foreign land! Is the Government offering a Hobson’s choice to the Muslims or is this another red herring to side-track their palpably vicious agenda to alienate them?   ....
