Pastor Ife Akindayomi, son of the founder of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) the late Pa Josiah Akindayomi, has shaved his head in honour of the late Dare Adeboye. Dare died in his sleep last Tuesday in Eket, Akwa Ibom State. He was aged 42.
Youths and the young at heart in the RCCG have been taking turns to cut their hair to honour Dare who was the second son of the church’s general overseer Pastor Enoch Adeboye. Adeboye’s last son Leke on Monday evening shared a picture of Akindayomi joining in the ritual. ....

The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, said he prayed and fasted 14 days not to be ordained as a pastor.
Adeboye, during the church’s February Thanksgivng Service focused on his 40th anniversary as General Overseer of the church, expressed appreciation to the founder of the church, late Pa Josiah Akindayomi for finding him worthy.
According to Adeboye, he was elected by grace, stressing that when the quest for the founder’s successor began, he was the least qualified.
