Sealing the deal: Washington State pretty much put this game away once it knocked CU’s Shedeur Sanders out of the game in the second quarter. Wazzu led 28-7 at that point and CU’s hope for a rally vanished. Turning point: CU seemed to grab some momentum with a first-quarter touchdown pass from Sanders to Travis Hunter, pulling within 14-7. On the ensuing kickoff, however, WSU’s Leyton Smithson went 98 yards for a touchdown, taking the air out of the Buffs. They never really recovered from that.
