Burger Love is a month-long competition where Island restaurants compete to have the top burger, and customers win with a variety of grilled treats to eat. This year, P.E.I. Family Violence Prevention Services is donating a dollar from each burger sold to the emergency shelter Anderson House.
P.E.I. has begun the process of creating a therapeutic court for domestic violence cases, as part of a federal initiative to curb gender-based violence in Canada.
P.E.I. Family Violence Prevention Services now has a staff person working full-time to offer services to men who have been the victims of violence as well as those who have inflicted it.
