Kirsten Johnson‘s appointment to serve as the Milwaukee Health Commissioner. It will next go before the full Common Council.
Johnson is currently the director of the joint Washington Ozaukee County Health Department. Prior to the 2015 merger, she served as the director of the Ozaukee County Health Department. Mayor
Tom Barrett nominated her to serve as Milwaukee’s health commissioner in mid-January.
“As a public health officer in the pandemic, I was the first in Wisconsin to write and implement orders to protect our most vulnerable populations,” said Johnson when the committee reviewed her appointment on Thursday.
