Excitement reigned supreme in and near Madras Monday morning about nine o clock when the residents learned that the storage dam owned by D.M. Clark, located about two miles south of Madras on Willow Creek had been washed out and that the water was coming down on the town. Once or twice before heavy leaks and the overflowing of the dam have frightened the people especially those residing near the creek, and when it was learned that the dam had actually washed out and there was considerable movement apparent. First news was received a few minutes before nine when Mr. Clark mounted on horseback dashed in and began warning residents of the lower parts of town to move.
