An average of four Covid-19-related deaths have been recorded every day in the Overberg since the start of the second wave of the pandemic.
A total of 37 Covid-19 related deaths were recorded in the 24-hour period between 30 and 31 December 2020, taking the death toll from 208 to 245 deaths. This is according to the Overberg Covid-19 Joint Operation Centre. The total number of Covid-19 related deaths surpassed the 300 mark on Thursday 7 January, and now stands at 324 deaths.
In addition to this, reports the Department of Health’s Overberg District Office, an average of 200-250 new infections have been recorded in the district every day. ....
