(Boulder County, Colo.) Homeless Solutions for Boulder County implemented a new strategy of increasing outreach efforts throughout the county before an expected extreme weather event. The outreach teams have been working with individuals to create plans regarding sheltering to ensure individuals experiencing homelessness have a safe place to shelter prior to the pending snowstorm this weekend.

If an individual experiencing homelessness does not have plans for the pending weather, the Outreach Collaborative partners share information where individuals may access sheltering and actively encourages individuals to access services prior to the extreme weather event. In the event of an extreme weather situation, the following sheltering options are available to individuals experiencing homelessness:
Just two blocks off Monument Square in Portland, Maine, downhill from the public library, sits a squat, gray flatiron building. Inside is a soup kitchen that has provided three meals a day, every day, to hungry Mainers in its oft-crowded dining room for more than 39 years.
