ZAMBOANGA CITY - The Zamboanga City Police Office (ZCPO) has activated the Special Investigation Task Group (SITG) Salih and Lajid to solve the December 6 shooting incident that resulted in the death of two persons, including a town mayor of Basilan province. Mayor Darussalam Lajid of Al-Barka and Barad Nuruddin, cousin and driver of Akbar Mayor Alih Sali, were killed by four gunmen aboard two motorcycles Monday morning at the seaside in Barangay Baliwasan here. Sali was wounded during the incident and is recuperating at a private hospital. Col. Rexmel Reyes, ZCPO director, said Tuesday that the SITG will conduct an in-depth probe to identify and file criminal cases against the perpetrators. "Among the possible motives that we are looking into is related to a personal grudge or 'rido' (family feud)," Reyes said in a statement.
