A YORK-based building consultancy which has doubled its team in the past five years is celebrating its 35th anniversary. WR Dunn which was established in 1986 by chartered building surveyor Richard Dunn and his late wife Deborah is still going strong despite challenges during the pandemic. Led by Ian Smith, a chartered building surveyor, and Martin Smith, a chartered architect, since 2016, the award-winning team of architects, building surveyors and accredited conservation professionals works with clients across the UK, and employs 20 staff from their offices in Acomb.

Residents at the Ouse View care home in Fulford have been sharing stories about their lives, swapping old photos and postcards, smelling and tasting favourite foods, and enjoying favourite films and and songs. It s a form of therapy known as reminiscence therapy which uses all the senses sight, touch, taste, smell and sound. The aim is to help people, especially those living with dementia or memory loss, to recollect and relate to past experiences, such as people, places and events.
