OTHELLO The Othello Huskies clinched their second straight Central Washington Athletic Conference title with last week’s win over Ephrata, defeating the Tigers 70-6 in the final dual meet of the season.
COLUMBIA BASIN It was a busy weekend of wrestling tournaments across the Columbia Basin, with Lind-Ritzville/Sprague, Othello and Quincy all hosting tournaments on Saturday.
OTHELLO – After back-to-back seasons placing third in the 2A Boys Mat Classic, the Othello Huskies bring in a team of 75 wrestlers into the 2023-24 season, aiming for yet another high finish at the state tournament.
OTHELLO The Othello Huskies football team scored early and took a 42-0 win over Grandview Friday on Homecoming night in Othello.
The win pushed the Huskies to 3-2 on the season, 2-1 in the Central Washington Athletic Conference. Othello had a strong senior class in 2022, had to make a lot of changes, and defensive coach Kevin Hale said it’s been an adjustment.
“We replaced a lot of guys from last year’s team, and it’s been a bumpy start in a lot of ways,” Hale said.
OTHELLO – A goal early in the second half was too much for the Othello Huskies to overcome on Thursday, falling 1-0 to Grandview for a second-straight loss in the Central Washington Athletic Conference.
Grandview came out strong on the attack in Thursday’s contest, keeping pressure on the Huskies throughout the game.
“Grandview was ready to play,” Othello Head Coach Victor Quiroz said. “They came out and were ready to play, and it showed today.”
