Six cases of assault reported in four days
THE Namibian Police in the Oshana Region was inundated with cases of common assault and assault with the intention to cause grievous bodily harm.
Six cases were registered at Oshana’s three main police stations in the first four days of April.
Assault tools included rocks, pieces of wood, sticks, metal objects, and bare hands. In one case teeth were used to inflict pain on another person.
According to NamPol’s Inspector Thomas Aiyambo, most of the cases happened at drinking spots during the afternoons and evenings when drunken quarrels inevitably led to physical fights.
