New mayor emphasizes getting Osakis 'back on track' at first City Council meeting of the year

Dan Wessel addressed what he called a “fairly large crowd” at his first Osakis City Council meeting as mayor Monday, Jan. 11.
Before beginning what would be a 40-minute public comment period, Wessel reminded the public of some ground rules.
He said that participants in council meetings should conduct themselves professionally, and he would not allow any comments that would tear another person down. Eileen Langner, a senior branch office administrator for an Edward Jones office in Alexandria, recently announced her retirement.
After almost 25 years of service with the firm, Langners s retirement will be effective Dec. 31. As a branch office administrator, she was responsible for the daily operation of a local Edward Jones office. Her duties included providing client service, supporting marketing activities for the office and staying updated on technological advances. Jamie Tikkanen will replace Langner.
