Two Columbian farmers have set a Guinness World record by growing the heaviest ever mango.
The farmers Germán Orlando Novoa Barrera and Reina Maria Marroquín grew mangos at Columbia’s Guayat area, and the mango weighed about 4.25 kilograms. The previous record was from the Philippines with a mango weighting 3.43 kilograms. The record has not been touched since 2009. ....

April 30 (UPI) A pair of Colombian farmers are now Guinness World Record holders after they grew a massive mango weighing 9.36 pounds.
German Orlando Novoa Barrera and Reina Maria Marroquin grew the mango at San Martin farm in the Boyaca area of Guayata.

The pair said they could tell early on that the mango was growing much larger than the other fruits on their tree. Barrera said his daughter, Dabegy, suggested the mango could be a new world record after it was harvested and weighed.
The 9.36-pound mango took the title of the world s heaviest from a 7.57-pound mango grown in 2009 in the Philippines. ....

Colombian farmers, Germán Orlando Novoa Barrera and Reina Maria Marroquín, managed to break a record after growing the world’s heaviest mango in Guayatá, Colombia on the San Martín farm in the area of Boyacá.

The impressive mango weighed in at 4.25 kilograms (9.36 lb) and was certified as an official Guinness World Records title. 
The previous record was held by a mango found in the Philippines that weighed 3.435 kilograms (7.57 lb) in 2009.
Germán and Reina began to notice that the fruit was growing very large, and they could see the difference in relation to the other mangos on the tree.  ....
