A new Diversity Equity and Inclusion Committee was created to address the issue, with county officials saying it was born out of the Black Lives Matter protests around the country in 2020. We had one of the rally protests here [that] was led by artists and it was about artists, said Terry Olson with the Orange County Arts and Cultural Affairs Office.
