Drugs dogs charity next to benefit from fundraiser 'Mrs Fudge'

A community champion known as Mrs Fudge is hoping to cook up a storm on her latest fundraising mission.
Debbie Delday is well known in the islands for her fundraising work which has seen local charities benefit by around £70,000 in recent years.
She has earned the nickname Mrs Fudge for her knack of making the sweet treat to raise funds and is now a part time fundraising coordinator for the Orkney Drugs Dog charity. ....

Tributes have been paid to the cyclist killed following a road collision near Wigton last month.
Jeremy Richardson who died following the collision, which did not involve any other vehicles on January 21 at Westward.
Originally from Inverness, he had just moved to the area to be nearer family.
A friend wrote the following tribute, which has been released by police:
The sudden death of Jeremy Richardson, formerly of Springdale, Harray, in a cycling accident near his new home in Wigton, Cumbria, came as a huge shock to his many friends in Orkney. ....

The Santa walk in progress today, Monday.
MEMBERS of Orkney Rotary Club moved their festive charity fundraising effort online this year, due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Jane Cook, immediate past president of the Rotary Club of Orkney, said: “Sadly, due to COVID restrictions, Rotary Santa and his sleigh will be unable to tour Kirkwall town centre this year.”
Instead, today, Monday, members have been carrying out a sponsored Santa Walk around the Peedie Sea area in Kirkwall.
She added: “We walked for children’s hospices on the longest day in June, now we are rising to the challenge on the shortest day of the year. ....
