Springfield officers spotted a blue Ford Falcon sedan driving erratically on Southern Cross Circuit in Springfield Central near the Bunnings at 9pm on Wednesday. Police say they tried to stop the car near Orion Lagoon but it failed to do so. The car continued to drive dangerously along the road and then went onto Springfield Greenbank Arterial, at which point it ran several traffic signals and swerved around other vehicles. ....

Premium Content Subscriber only RESIDENTS across Ipswich who hoped to enjoy outdoor public spaces during Greater Brisbaneâs three-day lockdown will have little luck. Ipswich City Council confirmed on Friday that several Council managed sites had closed under strict orders from Queensland Government. All Council libraries, Ipswich Art Gallery, the Civic Centre and co-working space Fire Station 101 have now temporarily shut. Visitor information centres as well as Council community centres are also no longer operating. âThe Customer Service Desk in the ICC Administration Building and the council call centre will remain open,â a Council spokesman said. SWIRLING rumours of a potential gastro outbreak across Ipswich have left many parents on edge following the recent temporary closure of Orion Lagoon. Ipswich City Council was quick to shut down the rumours this week, pointing out that scheduled maintenance at the popular lagoon was completed ahead of schedule, and was not related to any emergent health concerns. Concerned parents have since taken to social media in search of answers, with some reportedly suspecting the momentary shutdown was due to mandatory deep cleaning. However, frustrated lagoon users still claimed their children have fallen ill after recently visiting the facility - a rash and gastro-like symptoms appearing only hours later. ....
