ROCKPORT  Robert C. Heavisides, 88, died peacefully, with loving family at his side, Monday, July 19, 2021 at the Maine Veteran’s Home in Augusta.
Born in Lebanon, New Hampshire, he was the son of Albert and Elizabeth Cameron Heavisides. Growing up in Connecticut, he graduated from Manchester High School. During his younger years, he participated in Track and Field and held the school pole vaulting record for many years. He was also a member of the Boy Scouts Troop #25 in Manchester, Connecticut. Following graduation he enlisted in the U.S. Navy, serving for two years during the Korean War Era. ....
