Businesses across the Lowcountry have signed on to an effort this week to help raise money for a scholarship fund in memory of a Bluffton High School student who was killed in a recent shooting. 
DJ’s Day of Giving is scheduled for Wednesday to support the Dwon Fields, Jr. Memorial Fund. Organizer Tim Wood said some of the businesses agreed to donate a percentage of their sales Wednesday and some are making other donations. 
Eighteen local businesses were listed as DJ’s Day of Giving partners this week at djdayofgiving.com, but Wood said he expects that number to grow right up to Wednesday. He said Tuesday no business had turned down a request to participate, “which just speaks to the incredible giving nature of this community, even in the middle of a pandemic.”  ....
