DUII Crash Knocks Out Power

Power was knocked out in southeast Bend Wednesday night after a Redmond man crashed his truck into a power pole. Bend Police responded shortly after 8:30 p.m. to the intersection of the northbound Parkway at the Southeast Division on-ramp, for a report of a motor vehicle crash. Simultaneous to the crash, power outages occurred throughout the City of Bend. "A white 2013 Ford F350, had left the roadway off the northbound parkway and collided with a power pole owned by Pacific Power," stated the release. "The crash shut off power to the nearby intersection of SE Reed Market Road and the northbound and southbound parkway on and off ramps. " Officers learned that the suspect's pickup also struck a red Subaru occupied by three juveniles, who did not require medical attention. A DUII investigation was conducted and the driver, a 29-year-old Redmond man was arrested for DUII, Reckless Endangering and Criminal Mischief. On 01-09-2021 about 7:13 PM PST Deschutes County 9-1-1 dispatch received multiple 9-1-1 calls regarding a motor vehicle crash that occurred on southbound Highway 97 “The Parkway” just south of NE Hawthorne Avenue. Callers reported a Semi-Tractor Trailer had collided with a pedestrian.
Officers from the Bend Police Department arrived and provided medical aid to the pedestrian who was unconscious. Bend Fire and Rescue paramedics arrived and transported the pedestrian who succumbed to his injuries at St Charles Medical Center in Bend during treatment.
