the get out to vote effort you ve seen it at the ground level. i think what is valuable is shining a spotlight where that ordinarily wouldn t be the case. i m hearing houston because the country is paying attention to in addition to beto or you have the incredible richelle garcia, the first latina attorney general in texas. and i think what we can do is speak to what matters to us and i think it s important that texas knows the country is watching them, that we are watching to see how we vote on the most important issues of the day. lynn manuel, at its core, hamilton underscores the often under told importance of immigrants in american history, and obviously in texas, governor abbott has set off something of a firestorm by busing migrants to migrant -controlled cities, such as your city of new york. abbott says cities in texas can t handle the influx.
we re at a time when there is amounts of wealth being held by 1% of our country, 40% of the wealth in the country is held by the top 1%, 60 years it hasn t been like this in 60 years. and so democrats will push that message and it is resonating because the bill is oun popular. and the word that is floating around, democrats maybe some are scared to say it is waive. they are hoping this is a wave election in the mid term and dozens of seats and get back the house. you wan in a wave election year. you got elected 63 republican pickups in house. it was amazing. do you feel an opposite wave a blue wave forming right now. i think the response to the tax bill the tax cuts is going to be overwhelmingly positive. there are lots of commentators who ordinarily wouldn t be disposed to support the president or the republicans who have expressed even to their somewhat astonishment that
doesn t matter. ed makes an important point and kayleigh as well. there s a lot of positions that conservatives are nervous about, which republicans are nervous about. very little about the inaugural address itself that conservatives can relate to. yes. but that s an opportunity for him to get other people in who ordinarily wouldn t be name the other republican president who in the last half of the 20th century started his first day in office with 15 union members in the oval office for a photo op. donald trump is trying to win over the union vote, win over the labor vote and realign that aspect of the democratic party with the republican party based on trade policy and protectionism. that is totally a separation from the past, from the conservative movement, from free market economics. how he threads that needle and that dance, how he finds sort of a new center for trade for the republican party is
