Im angus mccarthy, president of the building commissioner and im joined by fellow commissioner members along with interim director reardon and dbi staff. As you will hear in detail from our agenda items today, were continuing to cope with the circumstances caused by covid19 pandemic. Along with just completing the departments move into our new perm a center at 49 south venice, on behalf of the commissioner, i want to thank dbi staff for their hard work for the move including boxing up hundreds and hundreds of plans thanks to the Deputy Director madison for lea ....

Today, as i talked about a little bit earlier this week, we have a special lecture here. Doctor jeff kinard. You may have a class with him. He is the chair of our history and Political Science program here at Guilford Technical Community college. Which may not know about doctor kinard is that he is a military historian, an expert in military history. He has published at least four books on anything from weaponry, weaponry from the civil war, revolutionary war. He collects a host of artifacts which he has brought and will share with us today. He is a ph. D. And earned his doctorate from Texas Christian University in fort worth ....
In 2011, he deployed to the republic of korea and commanded a tank company and a batallian Headquarters Company on the Demilitarized Zone between north and south korea. In 2014, he was selected for advanced civil schooling at Georgetown University in washington, d. C. He graduated with a masters degree in history in 2016, and assumed the position as an instructor in the department of history at the United States military academy. At usma, he taught courses in both military and United States history, and currently directs the Academy Course civil war america, which studies americas society, politics, economy, and military from 1816 to 1877. I have worked at meta fund which is a health and aging foundation located here in San Francisco. My background is actually in the Health Department work. I came from the Philadelphia Department of Public Health before moving to San Francisco. I have really had the opportunity to work deeply and closely with communitybased organizations, but i am happy to be working in the mirrors office as of yesterday. I am catching up.
