susan page, who were both there last night. and howard fein. the tenor of this thing, they usually sit around the swells from harvard and talk about ....

reporter: certainly. that will be a challenge for some of them especially in districts where the president is very popular. if members did not side with him on this. i think the big question right now is will it get to the floor? that s a decision that doesn t reside in the white house. it s really a decision for the majority leaders of the republicans, kevin mccarthy a long with the speaker, they run the floor. if they believe it is sort of a doomed bill, they ve got to make a calculation about tip typically you could see them not put it on the floor with that political exposure for each and every member to be recorded on something that went nowhere. that s typically how this goes. we saw the president saying he wanted a vote. that was a point of leverage. in the time we ve been talking about this and when we ve been updating our own whip counts and describing the mood and the atmosphere, i can assure you, if there were people in leadership who thought we had that wrong, they ....

happy easter to those of you celebrating. we have a lot of politics to get to. but first, the growing tension between the united states and north korea. north korea last night launched a ballistic missile from the submarine base in sinpo, but the missile exploded minutes after launch. this happened as mike pence landed in south korea for talks on how to counter the growing nuclear ambitions and he spoke to american troops at a breakfast there this morning. i m joined by senior national security analyst juan duarte, the failure, the new york times this morning leans hard into the idea that the failure wasn t necessarily a north korean failure, but maybe sabotage and possibly sabotage from the united states. what can you say? this is a missile program that s been replete with failures. and the challenge is we don t know yet. it could be sabotage. it could be poor engineering or bad luck. it s the nature of the missile programs but it s clear that
many trump voters though are ....

house this past week, but now the ranking member of the house intelligence committee is speaking out. talked with cnn today. where does their investigation go now? well, one of the big things that both the house and senate intel committees are trying to weigh is just how valuable michael flynn, the former national security adviser s testimony will be. of course, the big bombshell at the end of the week is that flynn said he is willing to testify if he is granted immunity for that testimony. he s offered this up to both of those committees. he has offered it up to fbi and the justice department, but it seems as though the committees in the congress are a little skeptical that there will be any real value in flynn s testimony, at least to the point where they would be willing to take that immunity. this is what adam schiff, that ranking member on the house intel committee, had to stay about it this morning on state of the union. we don t want to do anything that will interfe ....

he hasn t been charged with anything yet. but it would be standard procedure, and a special counsel investigation, to look into any financial here s what jared kushner s lawyer is saying in a statement tonight. we do not know what this report refers to. it could be standard practice for the special counsel to examine financial records to look for anything related to russia. mr. kushner previously volunteered to share with congress what he knows about russia related matters. he will do the same if he is contacted in connection with any other inquiry. what s your reaction to that? it may turn up nothing. but this is part and parcel of this long drawn-out investigation that we re in for. the idea that any one of these little new additions of information is going to be the body blow that, you know, unravels this whole mystery or takes down the administration, that s not going to happen. on the other hand, the idea that any one of these stories on its own is going to vindicate ku ....
