Knew we were witnessing something special that night. here was my immediate reaction following that speech. i think the immigrant experience combined with the african background combined with the incredible education, combined with his beautiful speech, every politician gets help on the speech, but that speech was a piece of work. well, his unlikely run for the presidency four years later captured the imagination of millions but seemed destined to fail in the face of the clinton juggernaut. then came the kennedy cavalry. caroline kennedy authored a new york times opinion article endorsing obama, wrote, i have never had a president who inspired me the way people tell me my father inspired them. but for first time i believe i have found the man who could be that president, not just for me, but for a new generation of americans. then ted kennedy joined her in a big rally at american university on the eve of the maryland, virginia and d.c. primaries. ....

Opinion article telling him he needs to drop out of the campaign. i think he s going to say that they don t represent the majority of iowa voters and that they didn t do a very good job of saying why he should drop out. what you re seeing right now is almost like a tale of two republican parties, if you will. you have the des moines register and the rnc and the gop competitors calling for him to drop out, calling for him to apologize, but you see the more ardent base like the limbaugh supporters standing behind him. so he s going to take the people that are voting for him, essentially, not really voting but talking about him in the polls, he s going to take the turnout he has with these crowds and he s going to take the attention he s getting and he s going to turn that into momentum for his campaign. i don t expect to hear that he s dropping out any time soon. i think in order for that to happen he would have to drop significantly in the polls and stop getting the amount of attention ....

Broke my heart. we could do the whole show, the whole week of shows with those kind of disrespect shown to this president. john boehner is in a category by hils. himself. this stunt, this lawsuit. he s trying to throw red meat to his base and table scraps. they get it. they are protesting this, saying either impeach him or don t. this is impeachment for cowards. boehner wrote in an opinion article that he s going ahead with the lawsuit. he s cited, quote, the president s flippant dismissal of the constitution and habit of ignoring the law and he said the president has, quote, not faithfully executed the law. joan, the speaker still didn t explain. you talk about the lawsuit. he s still not explaining specifically what he s suing ....
