Wow! The first of back-to-back full-length competition as the second part of the Idre Fjäll TRE installment, which was 3 races in 5 days, one 600 m sprint and two long-course races, was already breathtaking and full of excitement. But the last competition day here in Sweden did not disappoint either.
It was the day to show who had still enough fuel left in the tank after so many runs on the course with over 60 elements, causing legs to feel a proper burn down in the finish. A course that always presents excellent opportunities for passing, overtaking and some great action, especially in the bottom part. ....

Quite some snowfall welcomed ski cross athletes on their first of three competition days here in Sweden’s Idre Fjäll.
The first of the Idre Fjäll TRE races was a special one, as it was a never-before-seen 600m straight sprint course, which consisted of a whole lot of jumps and rollers. One would think that such a course would be a sealed deal when getting out of the start gate in first position, but what we witnessed today was quite the opposite. Those 600 meters were nothing short of excitement and pure fighting from start to finish. ....

After two fantastic opening Audi FIS Ski Cross World Cup events in December in Arosa (SUI) with its double night races and back-to-back competitions in Val Thorens (FRA), it is now time to solemnly open the year 2021 for some great ski cross action in Sweden with the “Idre Fjäll TRE” event.
For the first time, we are going to witness not two, but three competitions in Idre Fjäll. The first one will be a 600m sprint on the finish straight of the course on Wednesday, January 20, promising to be one tight battle from start to finish. It’s a setting that has never been taking place like that before, so it will be interesting to see, how athletes are going to battle it out at one straight line full of jumps and rollers. ....

The second of back-to-back nighttime short course events here in Arosa (SUI) is in the books. After the first competition day was nothing short of excitement, the second one certainly did not disappoint either.
Especially, since the course designers decided to make a little change to the element of the negative turn. That and the fact that it was colder tonight, which caused the course to be faster, added salt and pepper and pepperoncini to the competition of today.
After the pre-heat qualification rounds in heats of four were done and 32 men as well as 16 women were qualified for the finals, all was set for the great show of the night. We saw some epic battles through the Swiss short-course, but in the end, only four athletes made it into the big final. ....
